RE-EDIT TO INCLUDE FEEDBACK AFTER THE EVENT
(Same topic crops up on web page 'Get Closer to Your Fantasies)
GMSMA EVENING November 13th '97 =
Get closer to your fantasies through visualisation ... and
support them with visual aids?
Lecture demo
with discussion to follow.
THESE ARE MY NOTES TO 'PROMPT' MYSELF WHILE TALKING.
Introduce
the evening and the topic =
Visualisation ... since I was a kid the
process of constructing a scenario in my own mind ... trying to make
it seem real = Day dreaming (?) ...
... visualising a fantasy so vividly I could enter into it ... get off
on it.
It was
inevitable that I went into theatre as a profession as a director and
writer =
... visualising a fantasy and making it real enough for other people
to enter it ... AND ... and get them to lose themselves in it ... believe
(for a while) that it's real.
This is
what a lot of people do already when masturbating ...
some more than others ... fantasise - visualise.
As children we're often told that to day-dream is bad for you ...
it can ruin your life ... or your eyesight.
To visualise vividly in a structured way ... this I call 'The Theatre
of the Mind's eye'.
Getting a fantasy into stronger focus:
Too often our imagery stay deliciously vague ... generalised ...
we keep some options open ... play it by ear in our minds ...
Spoilt for choice because a lot of different things turn us on.
Whether
it is a determined jack-of fantasy or ... a gentle daydream ... how
often have you lost focus ... not been quite clear if it was a leather
or rubber whatever ...
or if he was tall and blonde or chunky, dark and hairy?
Focus
... concentration.
Nothing to do with being picky or being too fixed in our ideas ...
just choosing our preferences ... specifically ... on this occasion.
Next time around you might change the props or costumes or location
... in your Mind's Eye.
It is the details that bring the picture alive.
The details are what support the fantasy.
Which brings
us to the subject of ...
Audio-visual
back-up.
This evening isn't going to be all talk ....
and, as you can see there are a few people standing around looking eager
- or nervous ...
They're here to add substance to the ideas I'd like to explore with
you.
We're living
in an age when support for our private fantasies is at our fingertips ...
... technologically speaking.
Audio-visual back-up necessarily not as technical as it sounds; ...
the magazine photos, contact ads, phone sex lines, web sites, chat-rooms,
e-mail, home videos, screen grabbers, digital cameras, CD roms ...
... the paraphernalia of fantasy support.
Everything depends on how we use them ... not jut the imagination we
bring to them ...
but the Process ... the specific approach ... the focus.
Using
visual stimulants;
Since I was a kid I've been buying magazines and then flipping between
pages to create the illusion that ...
... the guy I liked the look of on page 10 ... was doing what the guy
on page 20 was doing
... only, doing it with the guy on page 2.
Very frustrating.
I vandalised so many magazines making scrap-book pages ...
... gathering images that pushed my buttons ... which appealed to my
personal taste ...
I wanted to get them together on one page I could beat off over.
Well ...
today with our scanners and PCs and Pagemaker ...
... the world is our oyster.
Same with videos ... we used to live with one finger hovering between
fast-forward and freeze frame.
Today, how many people lift clips and make montage sequences to satisfy
their personal taste ... or lack of it.
Our
objective ... Whether it is orgasm or just mental relaxation ...
the PROCESS ...
by which we arrive at it ... should be mentally and physically rewarding
... stimulating
The bringing together - the selecting - composing - structuring - creativity
I hope
I don't sound as if I'm intellectualising what is ... a natural everyday
process.
Tonight the aim is to explore the different ways different people 'visualise''
...
and not just during solo jerk off sessions but
... collaborative fantasising
... shared scenario building
... structured role play ... having first selected a defined range of
imagery.
= A
vast subject
... and because of limited time I'm going to take a few questions before
deciding where to spend the most time.
